Continuity of cooperation and partnership to support sustainable projects between Omantel and Dar Al Atta’a
Within the meetings of the ministerial committees in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia honoring a distinguished elite of individuals, associations, institutions and companies in the field of civil service in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. During the event, the Honorable Maryam bint Issa Al-Zadjali, Member of the State Council, founder of Dar Al Atta’a Association and Chairperson of its Board of Directors, was honored with the Leading Personality in Social Work Award 2022 in recognition of her distinguished career in the social field, charitable and voluntary work. In addition to establishing Dar Al Atta’a Association, which contributed to helping hundreds of thousands of Omani families and individuals and empowering them to manage their lives for the better, the Honorable Maryam Al Zadjali is among the most prominent women leaders in social and voluntary work. She was appointed by the Ministry of Social Development to be a member of the Women's Work Committee in 2003 AD, She gained the confidence of appointment to the State Council for the period 2015-2019 and re-assigned for the period 2019-2023, in addition to her participation in the jury of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work, She is a board member of Muscat Media Group, which was founded 40 years ago and includes Al Shabiba newspaper, Times of Oman, Al Shabiba FM radio and TFM. In addition to the fact that the Honorable Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali is an entrepreneur for a number of projects, she is also the founder of Al Atta`a magazine, the first magazine in the Sultanate of Oman that works to highlight volunteer efforts and shed light on local, regional and international humanitarian initiatives. Within the framework of sustainable partnership and cooperation between Omantel and Dar Al Atta'a, a "cooperation contract" was signed last week at the company's headquarters, as part of the company's social responsibility programs.
The contract was signed by Talal Al-Maamari, CEO of Oman Telecommunications Company, Omantel, and it was signed by the honorable Dar Al Attaa Association, Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors, in the presence of a delegation from both sides.
The contract includes cooperation in the field of building and maintaining homes for unprivileged families, where a team of engineers from Dar Al Atta’a Association supervises the implementation of construction and maintenance projects with the support of Oman Telecommunications Company, Omantel.
It is worth mentioning that the cooperation between the two parties has started since 2014, during the past years, restoration and maintenance works were carried out for nearly 170 homes of poor families in the various governorates of the Sultanate.
This partnership comes from the belief of both parties in the importance of having a home prepared for living a decent life for all.
On this, the Honorable Maryam Al Zadjali, the association’s president, said: “Dar Al Atta’a Association appreciates this continuous and sustainable cooperation with Omantel and its confidence in the association’s efforts. We assure that such partnerships contribute to the sustainability of projects and increase the number of homes that can be improved for living.”
The summer club for the children of the families of Dar Al Attaa Association launched in its second edition
Dar Al Atta’ Association, in cooperation with the National Nursery “Montessori Oman” and the Scientific College of Design, launched the summer club for the children of the families of Dar Al Atta’a 2. The camp will be from June 12 to July 7, and will last for a month.
The camp aims to raise the level of awareness among students by training them on artistic activities, external trips and a simple business project, in addition to instilling healthy living concepts such as nutrition, sports and personal care
The camp targets 25 male and female students from poor families in the Wilayat of Muttrah, in the age group of 7-11 years. Where the camp will be held at the headquarters of the National Nursery “Montessori Oman” in Qurum, the activities of the camp will also include visits to some cultural and recreational sites.
Khawla Al Maamari, Director of Marketing at Dar Al Atta'a, said that this initiative will enhance students' skills by developing their life skills and giving them the opportunity to explore their potentials and learn about future work paths in a fun interactive atmosphere that promotes creativity and ambition.
Under the patronage of the Honorable Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Member of the State Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Atta’a Association, the Green Green Houses project was inaugurated at Al Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Special Needs in the Wilayat of Ibra, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, in joint cooperation with the Dar Al Atta’ Association and with sustainable funding from the National Finance Company. This project comes within the "Tamkeen" program implemented by Dar Al Atta'a with the aim of empowering this category and developing its capabilities and skills through these projects. This initiative is considered a role model and enhances the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development in providing vocational rehabilitation services for this category to enable them to be self-reliant in managing their lives without relying on others. For his part, Mr. Amir bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, Regional Director of the National Finance Company, said: We are happy to cooperate with Dar Al Atta’a and fund the Tamkeen program, which will contribute to supporting the capabilities of people with special needs by providing them with job opportunities that give them a sustainable source of income, and gain them experience in production and marketing. Agricultural crops are self-reliant. In addition, National Finance always seeks to support charitable institutions in general to support members of the community. On this, Honorable Maryam bint Issa Al-Zadjaliah, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, expressed her appreciation and thanks to the National Company for its support and constant keenness to serve the local community through sustainable programs. She pointed out that the project, which was opened today, is among the 9 projects for green greenhouses that are being implemented by the association in cooperation with the National Finance Company, which is funded by the Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, and that 4 projects are under implementation. It is worth mentioning that Al-Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Ibra works to provide rehabilitation and care services to its children through a specialized cadre of 21 specialists and rehabilitation technicians who are working hard to train 86 children with disabilities by providing social and psychological rehabilitation services and improving their mobility abilities functional, pronunciation, communication, perceptual and cognitive abilities, etc., and work to achieve social integration in cooperation with supporting institutions. It is worth noting that there are 4 green greenhouse projects that will be implemented in the various governorates of the Sultanate.
